Two weekends ago, we had a small flooding in our basement. By small, I mean that we had an inch of water covering about 1/4th of our basement. It was a lot to clean up after and we weren't singing any happy songs as we frantically moved boxes that were falling apart from water damage, airing out other items, and sucking up water with the good ol' wetvac.
Trudy's thoughts as she came downstairs wide-eyed and talked to me (Wendy) about what was happening: "Oh, Mom. I heard a story about some people who weren't doing the right things and then there was a FLOOD!"
(Needless to say, I think we are doing pretty good in the "doing the right things" dept. and assured Trudy as I was trying not to die laughing!)

Did somebody say . . . SASSY?

We had some fun wearing Mom's wig this week. Uncle Rico and Deb would be proud. We told Xavier to picture seahorses and bubbles floating all around him. Azucena has had a few really good days and she even climbed a tree with us. You can see the IV hanging out of her arm and a raw corn on the cob in the other. (She has to constantly be eating or else she throws up- YUM!)The naked bum pic was shortly after Mercedes peed on Azucena's leg as you can see by the wet spot. We also did some weeding in our future garden! We were keepin' it real by weeding in the early hours with Mom here. She woke up the boys at 7 to finish weeding when I left for school Thursday. It looks great! We'll be seeing you all soon!

1st Birthday!

It was Mercedes' 2nd birthday but turned 1 year old (hah hah) Ari and I had made a three flavored cake with strawberry, chocolate and lemon. We put cardboard partitions in a bread pan, poured the cake batters in their spots and then pulled the carboard out. The batter is thick enough that it won't run together much. We tried having it stand up and I carved it in the shape of a one. But right before the camera came out it toppled. We still let her have at it as well as the frosting bottle (you can see the ring on her face!) She loved the 1 candle and wouldn't let it go. Click on the photo to see it more close up.

No, I didn't get the email saying there was a new post....although come to think of it, I signed up under a gmail account, so it might be there. The comment under Bryan's picture from IAN is actually me. I didn't know I was logged in under his name. Anyway. Here's a couple pics more for ya.
Abby's first piano recital....she wasn't nervous at ALL, had her pieces memorized, and loved it!
